Former Sitar staffer and student alum, come together in creating new works of art. Roko (aka) Rob and Niko Smith have been exploring a collaborative process working with steel and light. These pieces are the first results of this exploration. Each piece is based on structural fields and illustrated works created by Rob, re-interpreted and technically engineered into steel plates by Niko. Each piece is deconstructed then reconstructed into lines and shapes playing with dimensionality, perspective and light. (Roko’s artwork has been recently featured on exhibit at the Chehalem Cultural Center in Portland, Oregon.)
